The fifth International Symposium on Islam and Exegesis, organized by the Faculty of Theology at Inönü University—the first of which was held in 2017—took place from May 20 to 23, 2021. Holding an event without interruption or disruption for five consecutive years is a significant achievement. Since the first symposium, there has been substantial participation in the program each year from both domestic and international participants. With these positive developments, the Islam and Exegesis Symposia have become synonymous with the Faculty of Theology at İnönü University. Our faculty carefully preserves the papers presented at these symposia with a sense of responsibility and publishes them within the calendar year, thereby contributing them to the academic community. Through this practice, we have contributed to the academic work of hundreds of scholars to date. Upon completion of the editorial processes for these studies, their publication as international book chapters became possible, and these books were published by the İnönü University Press. In particular, the texts received before and after each symposium have been evaluated and published in volumes. With the symposium held in 2021, a comprehensive book series comprising 15 volumes has been established under the main title “Islam and Interpretation.”
