Emergency medicine is a demanding field requiring hard work and dedication. Those who work there, those who go there as patients, and those waiting for help have many stories to tell. In short, emergency rooms are pregnant with thousands of stories that need to be immortalized. The Emergency Medicine Specialists Association, with this aim in mind, strived to immortalize these stories and organized a short story competition. In the competition, titled "The Story of the Emergency 2022," the Selection Committee awarded first place to Eda Hatice Farsakoğlu for her story "Migration." Second place went to Ayhan Dayan for "My Left Leg" and Yayla Boztaş for "A Bunch of Poppies"; and third place was shared by Recep Turan for "My Heart While It Rains" and Hüseyin Opruklu for "City Sickness." The 29 stories submitted to the competition form the book "The Story of the Emergency 2022."
