BRIEF
In its simplest and most direct definition, language is a means of communication that enables peopleto understand one another. Among the most fundamental elements that unite a community into anation is language. A community without a language cannot be considered a nation; every nationnecessarily possesses a language. Nations that lose their language also lose their national identityand cultural existence. The case of the Bulgarian Turks, who lost their language and, consequently, their Turkish identity, is a well-known example. Just as nations need language to survive, individualsmust also have a strong command of their native language in order to think, express their thoughtsand emotions, and communicate effectively with others.Despite the significant time and effort dedicated to teaching the Turkish language at all levels ofeducation, many young people today are still unable to understand previous generations and theirworks. They often struggle to express themselves with only a limited vocabulary. The only way toovercome this issue is to foster a love of the language in younger generations and encourage them tolearn its rules and vocabulary comprehensively. This latest edition of our Turkish Language textbook has been prepared with these goals in mind andrevised in accordance with the updated language rules set by the Turkish Language Association.
